Business Licenses

Business Licenses are issued by the Utilities Department in the City Administration Building.  A business license application must be completed and submitted with a copy of your Washington State business license containing your Washington Revenue Registration Number (UBI) and the applicable fees.

Fees are as follows:

License Fee $35.00 / $45.00         After June 30, license fee is $17.50 / $27.50

The higher rates are for businesses requiring a fire inspection.  This would apply to any commercial entity or location and some home-based businesses, depending on the nature of the business.  Some specific conditions requiring inspection are listed below:

1.  You store any kind of materials or goods on business premises.
2.  You have any employees performing work on the business premises.
3.  You have customers visiting the business premises.
4.  You store flammable, toxic material, explosives or weapons.

Home Occupation Application

If it is deemed that you need a fire and safety inspection, you will be contacted directly by the Benton County Fire District #4 to schedule an appointment with you.

Business License Renewals are due by January 31.  Renewal after that date will incur a $14 penalty.
