During the last several months, the citizens of West Richland have been victimized by numerous property crimes. Many of these crimes have been crimes of opportunity where vehicles or residences have been victimized because owners failed to take even the most simple steps to deter the criminals like locking the door, or removing purses, money and other valuables at night. The crimes in the linked document below are a chronological listing of events around the community that pertain to crimes of opportunity. The police department is requesting residences step up personal security of their property and that they take affirmative actions by locking doors and being more aware of activity in their neighborhoods.
