Economic Development Board

 Citizens developing a strategic path for the economic vitality of West Richland

Terms of Appointment: The Board is composed of seven members, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by a majority of the City Council.  The Terms are for four years.  Members shall serve for their designated terms and until successors are appointed.

Purpose and Intent: The purpose and intent of the Board shall extend to and encompass recommendations to the City Council and Mayor relative to the development of strategies for economic development and the ongoing monitoring, assessing, and strengthening of economic development strategies in the City of West Richland.

Primary Duties: The Board shall have the following major functions:

1. The Board shall formulate economic development goals for the City in a structured framework proving both time and measurement criteria.

 2. The Board shall assess existing economic development policies for the purpose of recommending such modifications as may be appropriate to achieve the conomic goals approved by the City Council.

 3. The Board shall formulate new economic development plans, policies and strategies for the purpose of assuring achievement of the economic development goals approved by the City Council.

 4. The Board shall have an advisory role with the City Council and Mayor, and provide a connection to the general public on economic development issues.
